Specials
At Tappahannock Elementary School, our students attend "Special Classes" each day that are full of exciting and enriching activities. Your child will have the opportunity to explore the world around them, engage in creative problem-solving, and build important social and emotional skills. Our Special Classes also offer a unique chance to collaborate with their peers and develop a passion for learning!
Art
At Tappahannock Elementary School, students have the opportunity to explore their creativity and express themselves through art. Through art projects, students can develop their fine motor skills as well as their artistic abilities.
Library
The TES library has an extensive collection of books and materials available for students and teachers to check out. Library classes provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become proficient researchers. Students can access the library's online catalog through Destiny Quest, to search for books. The library also offers lessons that are aligned with the students' SOL curriculum. To ensure the availability of materials for other students, make sure to return books on time.
Music
Music classes provide students with the opportunity to learn a variety of music concepts, including reading music, music history, rhythms, traditional folk music, and more. Lessons are designed to be in line with the SOLs, and students will have the chance to sing, dance, and play musical instruments.
Physical Education
Physical education (P.E.) classes are designed to help students develop a love of physical activity. Through P.E., students can increase their physical skills and fitness while also developing a sense of confidence in their ability to try new activities. They also learn the value of teamwork and respecting others.
